About Our Church

 OUR WORSHIP SERVICES:
Are led by faithful Christian men (I Corinthians 14:34 & I Timothy 2:8-14).  These men lead us in Congregational singing (a cappella); prayers offered up to God; the Lord's Supper and giving as we have been prospered.
We also hear a message from God's Word, followed by the opportunity for us to respond to the Lord's invitation to become a Christian or to rededicate our lives to Him if that is our need and desire.  However, at no time is anyone singled out or intentionally made to feel uncomfortable.

MISSIONS & OTHER EVANGELISTIC WORKS:

Statement of Beliefs

        WHAT WE BELIEVE:

  •  The Bible is the inspired Word of God by which we will one day be judged.
  •  The Bible must be our authority for that which we teach and practice.
  •  Christ is the only Head of the church  (Colossians 1:18)
  •  Men who meet the qualifications set forth in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 are to be          appointed as elders (also called shepherds or bishops) to oversee the local congregation.   Serving under the elders are deacons ( I Timothy 3:8-13), preachers (Romans 10:14) and all  other members (Hebrews 13:17).
God wants every person to be saved. For that to happen, each accountable person must
  • Hear the word ((Romans 10:17)
  • Believe that Jesus is God's Son (John 8:24)
  • Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3
  • Confess our faith in Christ as Gods Son  (Acts 8:37; Romans 10:10).
  • Be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38).  When we obey the Lord in baptism, we are then added to the saved (church) as stated in Acts 2:47.
  • We must then diligently strive to live a faithful Christian life (I Peter 2:21 -22)

Church History

HISTORY:
The church in Goldsboro began on August 11, 1957, with 13 adults and 12 children in attendance. They met in the home of Bill and Joyce Forsyth. Our first preacher was Brother Ray Fullerton. He worked with the church for ten years. In 1960, we moved into a new building at 203 North Claiborne St. which was our home for the next 39 years.
After having grown from 25 to 160 in attendance, we built a new building at 401 North Oak Forest Road  and moved there on June 20, 1999. Continued growth required the elders to look into adding on to the North Oak Forest Road building. While doing this a building at 2700 North Park Drive became available and met current classroom needs and allowed for future growth at a cost savings. We are currently at 2700 North Park Drive.
